Nice review again, Carla. Of course, since "Earth" is to me what "Fire" is to you, but more intimately connected with my very existence, I was disappointed to see that you did not consider it worthy of its own space alone. But, in order to show that I've taken on board its message of tolerance, neighbourliness and acceptance of difference, I'll let you off.

On a less jocular note, I wonder if Aamir's performance was enriched by the film's personal resonance for him. As I understand it, he has very close family ties to Pakistan, including the former cricket captain Imran Khan.

max, my excuse is that *Earth* was one of the first five Hindi-language films I ever saw, and at the time I did not know I had film-critique in my future. I wrote that post for my general blog GOAT, and I was just writing what I was thinking about, rather than specifically reviewing a film. Of course it's worthy of its own review! I'm just too lazy to rewrite it.

I did now know that about Aamir - thanks for that.
